Don't apologize - Barber coinage is about as tough as it gets to grade. It could either be AU58 or maybe the MS62 I'm offering it. 63 wouldn't floor me.

Use a non-reflective black/dark gray background. Kindergarten construction works very well.
You want the light that the camera (or scanner) collects to be as much from the coin as possible.

you guys did really good, I appreciate the photography advice i actually saw an entire book related to coin photography and laughed how hard can it be to take a picture of a coin but I take it back. its so hard to capture every detail of a coin in a photo.
