Let me guess... we have the gold Kennedy half being created in a few months... any takers on a Coin and Chronicles set?

Quote: If the Mint were to produce an Eisenhower Coin and Chronicles set, it would have to be made the year his gold Presidential dollar comes out. I did say "next year" in my original post. Yes, his dollar will be issued in 2015. Quote:Let me guess... we have the gold Kennedy half being created in a few months... any takers on a Coin and Chronicles set? Well, we do need something for 2014. However, a 2014 Kennedy C&C set would not include his dollar since it comes out after Eisenhower's next year. I still think 2017 is a better year to celebrate Kennedy.

I've ordered another set....... the more I think about this set, the more I like it, even though the potential for this set to appreciate in price is very minimal.... it's a great concept. Only wish if the golden dollar is actually a real gold coin with $1 denomination....... Anyone can dream right?

I am glad it is not, because it would have kept me from being able to buy it.

SA4H - If the Roosevelt dollar was real gold, the set would cost over $600. And like jbuck, I would have not been able to buy one either.
Maybe if the Mint struck the obverse with the proof finish and the reverse with a business strike, plus making it only available with this set would have pushed sales along quickly.

The more I look at it, the more I like it just the way it is.
The only thing I might have changed is making the packaging the same size as the 2009 Lincoln C&C set.

Placed my order tonight for this set! So excited! It'll be coming with an unc Civil Rights Dollar and a 1.5" New Frontiers bronze medal. These will be my first "non-coin" products from the mint and I'm really excited. Big thanks to CCF and Commems in particular for providing the education that has fostered my growth as a collector!

I think I'll order one too. @devilsbite, welcome [belated] and thanks for the dancing fruit salute to help coax me off the fence.
I thought this would be a great set to have considering Roosevelt's influence on US numismatics but was hesitant to pull the trigger until now.
[edit] ordered!

Good that we have more collectors get on-board. I still think this set is being ignored (falling under the radar).....

One nice thing about buying the Roosevelt set was that it put my order over $300 to secure "upgraded" shipping. Given the way that my card was charged, not sure it'll arrive any way other than USPS, but one can hope.

I will most likely come UPS sig required which I hate because it TOTALLY kills a day while I wait for the 11a or 1p or 4p or 6p delivery...

Especially because all my orders come to the house now instead of the office where I used to have them shipped. Fortunately my job is flexible enough that I can work from home any time I need to, but still it's a pain. I'd still have them shipped to the office but our office recently relocated and the US Mint web site's address book system won't let me add my new work address because it can't find/verify it. Yeah, I could call the 800# (which I've done a couple times) but that defeats the purpose of online shopping. Life's little problems....

Is there any idea of how long the mint intends to sell this for since there is no mintage limit?

, KOB. On the page for this product, it states "This product will be available until sold out." So, no, not really.
