Here is a just acquired 1787 Fugio. It is an N6W, R4. I am to say the least, very happy about this acquisition! Guess the grade. You vs. NGC:D

Beautiful coin with nice color and surfaces. Certainly looks VF but I don't know these at all.

NGC went a little higher than the VF consensus;) I am thinking they awarded an EF grade because of the superb surfaces and color. This thing also has cool planchete flaws, & die cracks (front and back)making it even better, IMHO:) I am supper happy with it!

I was going to say XF-40, but I thought it unwise to go that far above vermontensium's estimate!

Outstanding coin ... congratulations on acquiring such a lovely example. Quote: but I thought it unwise to go that far above vermontensium's estimate! LOL ... some of the best intellectual contributions at the CCF are between our resident colonial/early copper experts P&V ... I respect both of your valued input ... and while knowing very little about these coins ... I do gain some measure of knowledge every time one of you posts anything. To the OP again ... fabulous coin. David

Very nice indeed and I agree NGC was generous due to the excellent color and surfaces free of major contact marks. I would love to own a piece like that someday.
