It looks really really light colour wise. In terms of being genuine or not I would err on the side of it being genuine but I haven't a clue tho after hearing about how they can be tampered with I would err to say that it may have been subjected to acetone of sorts or a similar chemical?

Can you take a pic of the other side of the note? I don't think that it has been tampered with acetone but I do have a suspicion that it could be a "dashboard" note

Looks like a legitimate error note to me,missing one layer of print i'd say. I don't see how it could possibly be faked.

Acetone removes all the ink, not just certain colours. I don't know what's happened to the one above, but IMO it has not been treated with acetone.

Hi thanks for the info sorry I thought I put up a picture of the other side, the other side is as new , it even smells new , I thought maybe bad counterfeit but has watermark etc the note also feels just like a new note, would it be worth anything above face value or should I just spend it, I'm not a wealthy person and twenty bucks helps me out a lot

What state are you in? If it had come from an ATM - and if it is new, then more should have been issued, and something like this should hopefully be noticed...eventually. Appears to have a color phase missing; certainly not acetone.
The other side will have the serial number and that'll give us a date.
I'd be hanging on to it for now...

I'd say it's worth far more than face value,if you do the ebay thing i'd start it at around the $150 to $200 mark & see what happens. Oh & imo it's missing the final orange/red layer of print.

Knowing that most full colour prints only have four colour separations (CYMK), I don't understand the following with this note: 1. There is evidence of cyan (C) in the circle area around the ship which appears green after being overprinted with yellow. 2. There is evidence of yellow (Y) throughout the note. 3. There is evidence of magenta (M) in the circle area around the ship, 4. There is evidence of black (K) at either end of the note. So given this, in my humble opinion, I can't see how it can be missing a layer of colour in the printing process.

I don't know either way but isn't every new sheet double or triple checked for colour. Some smartie may have put it in a washer/dryer or microwave or something similar, they are always looking for ways to alter notes.
