I want you to pick out the very worst coin in your entire collection and post a picture with an explanation. It could be because the coin is worth very little, or worth nothing at all. Or it could be because it is in dreadful condition. It might be a coin that you really regret buying but you can't bear to part with or a just plain ugly design that for some reason you have deigned to add to your collection. Fly my pretties, FLY!

I love all of my coins. However, it should be interesting to see what people post.

OK I will bite on this thread. This coin has environmental damage and I hate the fact it does. Without it it would be a tremendous example.

Even the worst condition and lowest value coins I own at least have sentimental value to me. Sorry about the IHC, muddler, that would have been a nice one...

The object behind collecting is to enjoy it. The only reason I could fathom having a coin to "hate" is if it was a filler of some sort, filling a void that, to upgrade, would cost a fortune.
I don't have any I dislike. If I did, they would be on the chopping block and sold to get rid of.

That would be the coins my father bought from the Franklin Mint in the early '70s. He bought them as on investment for his young daughter (moi!). They are polished and completely abused, put in a fancy presentation folder and over priced. He was heartbroken when 60 Minutes did a show on this in the '70s. That is what stopped his collecting...and what started mine. I think I was 8 and was impacted by that experience. When I look at my coins I think of my dad (he passed away in 2005). I keep the set to remind me to stay true to what I like and not outside influences (read: market forces) dictate my purchases. Plus, it is still cool to see his name on the fancy, smancy presentation box.

This one. I don't despise it, it's just ugly toning and it's even worse in person. It was given to me by my wife's grandma a few month's before she died. She knew I collected coins and wanted me to have it. I can't sell it or dip it because that's the way she gave it to me.

You asked for it... And I provide it This is what it would have looked like originally... And this is what it is now Banged up scratched etc. It looks worse in reality. Only relief is that I bought it way under scrap value at 10 dollars or so including shipping. Could always get rid at scrap metal value but had this coin in my collection for a while.

You know what happens when you use E-Zest on copper? I do. The images do the color no justice.

The unfortunate outcome of an early lesson learned in auction bidding, many long years ago. Whoever did this to this poor Trade dollar seems to have taken the pains to attempt to re-create Liberty's hairdo in the plug, but forgot what letter the word "dollar" starts with. Removed it from the 30-year-old 2x2 it came in to take this pic, so if I ever want to track down the varmint who plugged this dollar, it appears I also have his fingerprint...

How about a real heartbreaker? Stored in a "coin folder" for some 40-50 years.
