Recently picked up this 1940S Quarter at a coin shop in Boulder, CO. I bought it for 8$ and it was graded F-15. I just wanted to see what you guys thought the grade would be compared to the shop.

That's the only shop I've been told to stay away from. What do you guy think of the prices? I've never been in there. Grader seems tough but thats a good thing.

First impression was VF20 however all of the hairlines on the obverse could result in a details grade

Quote: That's the only shop I've been told to stay away from. Not sure why? I sure wouldn't sell them anything, they pay peanuts for everything - but I when I worked there mid 1990's (and not for long, as I lived in Denver, a long drive in snow at rush hour every night), the inventory quality was pretty good, you had to ask for certain series, as most stuff wasn't out on display, nothing was fake, maybe but a bit overpriced IMO, but standard for a retail shop with fairly high overhead and rent. My favorite item was the inside of the big safe at the middle of the store (A large walk in vault) Daryl (owner) had purchased a bunch of old bank safe deposit boxes and had lined one of the walls, primarily to keep items separate and locked up. I only saw one or two ever opened he had some amazing item hidden in them. But I'd love to have a big wall of old safe deposit boxes, complete with old double key sets, in fantastic working condition like he has.
