You vs PCGS. This coin marks the beginning of my liberty Seated half dime odyssey of collecting the entire series slabbed! Edited by EFLargeCents 12/11/2013 11:41 am

I'll call this one an AU-53. Very nice coin!

I don't know what it is about Seateds - they're bland and characterless to me in Mint State, but possibly my favorite design in AU. They acquire such a wonderful circulation patina.

AU53 and I agree with the above comment, unless they are uncirculated with an amazing rainbow toning that isn't too dark or heavy.

I like the seated series, probably my favorite, a lot of history transpired during their mintage years. Here's the grade. Folks were right on and all around this one!

You mean like this, right? For the record, this one's the Top Pop NGC PR68* CAM, from Eric Newman's collection. $44k at Heritage, almost 4 times the price of any other example of the date ever offered there.

AU55 is a fair grade. I saw almost no wear and thought it might have been bumped to MS.
