Nice well circulated set. Now for those keys/semi keys.

I've always thought Barbers were a nice coin even when they got worn down (some coins do not wear down well like the seated liberty series) so a set of the dimes would be nice and could look nice even in lower grades. I love Mercs but the 16d always scares me off as I'd likely never finish the set.

with jbuck now if you just watch your budget finishing that Barber dime set is doable.Especially in AG to G with only the 1895 0 setting you back a little. Unless you decide to reach for the moon and get a 1894 S,then that might dent your budget. regards coffeecup57

Nice set. I've made several different types of those mexed sets. I see you forgot to add in the 42D/41 Merc. Odd that Dansco leaves out the 1894S and Whitman doesn't. Odd to is I've got a Whitman Folder with a slot for the 1913 Liberty Head Nickel. It is fun to make such sets. Breaks the monotony of just one thing. I like Whitman Albums for some coins due to the size of the Album Cover where you can add many pages. I dislike Dansco due to all the blank spaces at the end. No decent planning on what is a complete set. Yous is starting to really look good.

If the 16D scares you then you are not alone! Barber dimes are my coin passion. A complete set in VG-8 is doable. My F+ set is turning into a high XF and AU set with a few MS coins thrown in. STILL looking to upgrade. ALL of the Barbers look good down to VG, and even a good coin with nice surfaces pleases. Unlike the Mercury dimes, which I handled in my youth, the Barbers are not familiar to the majority of people. They say, "WOW! Those are old." The missing ones? Anyone who has collected this series has had the same missing holes. Money alone is not enough to obtain them. NICE ones I mean. Availability plays a big part. Many are just NOT available at any price. Persevere and enjoy them.

Hey I know where you can get a 16-D and it's in your home but you had better be stealthy and careful. Wear a helmet...

I actually sold an 1895O out of the collection I sold on consignment. It was a P01. I was tempted to keep it for part of the payment, but I personally did not like how it looked and there were other coins I wanted more. And yeah, I do not think I will be getting a 94S. Not at 100,000.00 or more. I think I will stick with getting a second 16D. LOL Raymo, I value my life a LOT more than you do my friend. I have a nice 17D in AG on its way. This is a whatever strikes my fancy and can afford at the time kind of set.

Very nice. I'm slowly working on the same set. I like the way the circulated coins look and the history behind those that used them.

Quote: I dislike Dansco due to all the blank spaces at the end. I used to utilize those pesky, empty holes to insert a graduated "mini set" of graded coins from the series, assorted dates, ranging from AG to AU/UNC. Doing that would help me spot check my grading. Also, it made for some interesting chat when I was showing a set. Enjoy the ride ....

Quote: I dislike Dansco due to all the blank spaces at the end Like ExoGuy I use the blank spaces, but I put varieties or errors I come across in the raw. RPM's,clipped, cracked and defective planchetts, even have a fake 16D that someone crudely attempted to add the"D"mm. regards coffeecup57
