I put this little rascal on "lay-a-way" as a replacement Barber dime for my 7070 and wanted to see what the CCF Members thought of her.

Thanking you in advance!

Typical weakness for that year and mint:

Must have cost $$$! Great 7070 example.

Grade? In the AU range, no higher.
Unless TPG is succumbing to gradeflation.
Reverse shows a few minor scratches.

AU55 with great luster it appears under the patina of old toning. AU58 won't surprise me either this is a nice looking example of a very lightly circulated Barber dime.

Wow, nice crustiness to it! I'll be in the AU-55 crowd as well.

Hard to tell from the sellers images but I think it's an FS501?

Leave it to dave700x to spot the "variety"

Looks like one to me too!

My apologies on the small image of the mintmark(s).

Unattributed? Yes! The remnants of the initial mintmark are hiding in the shadows of toning...at least that is what I think I see!

I will post some close-ups of the mintmark when I get her out of hock.

It is going to be a while before I can bail this one out

I can't wait much longer, rearranging some assets to post bail.

Like Matt mentioned in his post, the reverse areas were weakly struck on this date, but I may wind up keeping this one in the NGC holder and just sending it in for variety attribution.

PCGS may not feel the same way, but then I could send it to them as a crossover with a minimum grade.

Due to good behavior, I was able to arrange the release of this beauty from the clutches of her captor. She is being sent on the fast train to my collection.

ETA...not soon enough!

This is a nicer one than I thought it seems, the darker toning can be really tough to grade through on a photo! Hope you get you new prize in hand soon!
