It looks like wear leading toward the rim. Can we see a full picture of the obverse?

I would have to go with a Greaser ever thought it is a highly circulated coin. I don't think the date being that close to a full rim would get worn down like that. Just my opinion.

Normally straight on shots of coins are the way to go...but maybe we need a little angle towards that rim...

I will make some more photos tomorrow when daylight is back..

Here the reverse it doesn't show that much wear..
I'll check the weight also..

Sander...Your rim is worn more on one side than the other..would that include wear on that side...?

Does this weigh as much as a normal coin for that year? It maybe a tapered planchet?

I took the weight: 2,75 grams..
I had another 2 steel cents on my desk: 2,65 & 2,87 grams (not plated)

That weight range seems correct. I just noticed it should be 2.70 grams. I thought they were 3.11 grams, but that year they were 2.70. Learn something new everyday.

It may have been struck with a tilted die. It's one I would save till we know for sure what it is.

I don't think it is wear. The zink layer on the coin is relatively thin. If it were wear, the steel underneath would be exposed. It doesn't appear to be on this example. I would think along the lines of misaligned die or grease as earlier suggested since the weight is correct.
