The Obverse seems to be weak, could be the picture. The reverse has a nice strike, I will say AU58.

Nice coin, your pics are a bit small to really give you an accurate grade.

I agree with jleveille, looks high AU but, may be higher with bigger pics.

I think it is more the quality of my pictures than a weak obverse. Here is a larger, more clear picture of the obverse.

The reason I wanted to know the grade was because it is a 1972 DDO, either die 2 or 7. You can find this coin in a post under the US. Modern Variety and Error Coins section of the forum.

At this grade, do you think it is worth sending off to be slabbed?

very nice AU58.. had tried to buy one of these a few days back,I think yours looks very similar if not slightly better that was 1971 AU58 I seen go for $160-$175 Slabbed if that helps. There is one on ebay now buy now for 179.99 au58 and yours looks better then that one also. Without slab I see them available for $99-130.
