Hallo,

My daughter bought this 1937 Crown from a Sydney dealer.

They described it as:- (S) 1937 - Circular die flaw on obv lustrous UNC.

Does anyone know if this die flaw is common, please ? ... and what it would be worth...

Thanks so much !

Gin

Hi Ben,
I carnt see the type of error as described.
But it does look A/Unc to "Unc"
As I can see the crown has it's "Full Orb"

Looks like a scratch in the shape of a semi-circle starting in the hair above HM's ear curving around in front of his ear and ending at the bottom right of the neck, but I very much doubt that it's a die flaw.
life is a mystery to be lived not a problem to be solved

..and me,i had a similar 2/-,the mark was caused by the tongue of the saflip type plastic holder resting on the coin where its been tucked in.
Not saying thats what it is on this Crown but it looks similar to other eg's I've seen.

Thank you jpl for the grading, much appreciated for taking the time to reply ... Nancy I wish we could upload a better pic but the 'scratch' is kinda 'raised' ... thank goodness it's a highly reputable dealer and money-back-&grading-guaranteed ... Cheers !

G Day Ben.
If you are able to take a Pic as close as your camera
can get ( Len's= 10-12mm )(Macro Setting)
but on an "Angle" to get a 3D Perception of the Coin's
outline flaw.
There are two good way's to take Pic's,
(Bird's Eye =2D & Angle =3D) View's.
jpl.. Hope this can help.
