Ok my fellow coin people!! I have reached a quandary of epic levels. Ok to put it into persepctive I have chopped up removed picked sold almost every proof or mint coin from 1955-2013 and the best of the best have ended up into dansco books either custom or standards and in my Lincoln Cent book 1909-2017 I have a 1982 mint token in place of the 1970 small date cent.... Question is: I have a 1970 small date cent in a mint set and I dont wanna chop it up due to unknown rarity of the complete set.would you personally feel cheated if someone showed you a bu collection of cents and in the 1970 slot was a "stunt coin" and there in a mint set was a perfectly fine and dandy small date cent..i also fave a ms65 small date pcgs slab and a small date proof set.. Sooooo what would you do? This is like 3-5 questions in review hahaha ok lemme have it! As you can see its not the purdiest coin as it is

Not uncommon to plug holes for slabbed coins or ones in protective sleeves. I use BU LMC's inserted backwards in my Dansco to plug holes that are slabbed etc. nlp

I have some spots in my Dansco albums that have labels of "See Slab". I don't want to bust a few coins from their slabs (1922 no D LWC and others) just so an album looks full. Its your collection, so you can store the coins anyway you like.

I never sell coins so in my opinion, break open anything in the way of Proof or Unc sets to get the coins needed for an Album. I put everything in Albums. I never think about what if, who could, why not and so many other worlds of IF. I just want Albums looking like complete sets.

The good news, it's definitely a small date.

Break them out of the slab, tape the label from the slab to the inside cover of the album and there ya go. Like so...

Smokeriderdon,
Dansco should consider making a page specifically for this! Who knows it might increase usage of their albums. Every time I'm at my LCD I see more used Dansco's piling up. Not sure if that's anecdotal or not.
By the way, I always laugh when I see your signature tag.

For me I keep my coins in the slab that way *if* I decide to sell some of them it will be easier to make top dollar with them authenticated and slabbed. There is no right or wrong answer to this question though, just do what is right for you!

Singer, I wish they would! Nothing fancy, just a heavy paper page like the ones they have in the Presidential dollar albums with the historical info on them. And as for my signature tag, the slaughter of the English language drives me nuts. Do not even get me going on the absolute abuse of 's. rupester, I did not clarify there, my bad. Get a 70 small date in a slab and crack it out for your album. That way your mint set stays intact. I have a 1960 small date proof set I absolutely will not cut open. I need a coin from it, I will buy it.
