I'm not well versed in IHC at all (in fact, I only own 3-4). I'll say my grades match PCGS/NGC since I don't know any better. 1. VG8 2. F12 3. F12 4. G4 5. G6 6. F12 7. G6 8. AU55 9. AU50 10. XF45 11. G6 12. MS61? 13. AU55 14. MS62? I hope I get at least half right.

Interesting idea! Here goes nothing, my guesses;
1. VG10 - Details scratched 2. F12 - Details scratched 3. F15 4. VG8 5. VG8 6. F12 7. VG10 - maybe details due to surface PVC, but could have graded clean 8. EF40 9. EF45 10. VF30 11. VG10 12. EF40 13. AU53 14. MS60/61

Just an update--none of the coins pictured above got details grades. I'll post the results in the morning.

Quote: Just an update--none of the coins pictured above got details grades. I've had (non key date) coins come back, with less damage on them than the ones I labeled as detailed, in body bags (old days) and now in details or Genuine holders from PCGS, NGC and ANACS. Kind of stinks how there is a double standard for key dates and certain old coins when it comes to PMD.

TPGs on the left side, my grades on the right. I think generally, TPGs tend to over grade key date coins.

Based on the other guesses, I'm either really conservative or horribly lost..

TPG grade/my grade. 1. VG-8/G-6 2. F-15/F-12 3.F-12/fF-12 4. G-6/G-4 5. G-6/G-6 6. F-12/F-12 7. VG-10/VG8 8. EF-40/EF -40 9. EF-45/EF-45 10. VF -35/VF-30 11. VG-8/VG-8 12. EF-40/EF -40 13. AU-53/AU-53 14. EF-45/EF-45 I believe #13 gets an AU because I'm seeing the weakness in the ribbon as strike related. To me, it really depends heavily which TPG we are up against.

Quote: I've had (non key date) coins come back, with less damage on them than the ones I labeled as detailed Yeah--that would sure be frustrating! A few of these struck me as details-grade as well--I like coins with even wear. So I picked coins w/pictures detailed enough to grade--I didn't single out problem coins. That said, some probably look different in-hand--at lot of my IHCs do! Overall, I trust my fellow CCF members grades more than many as slabbed--especially #8 with the CAC sticker! I've posted the TPGs grades next to the coins. Here are my grades. I gave a few net grades due to issues I see. 1. VG8--too many marks! 2. F12 details--big scratch 3. F15 4. AG3 Just not enough rim/legends to make G4 5. G4 6. F15 7. F12 toughie to grade 8. EF40 not enough detail in ribbon curls for AU--scratches on cheek. 9. VF35 10. VF25 11. VG8 just barely 12. EF45 probably better in-hand 13. EF45 held back by strike 14. EF45

DV, thank you again! This is one of the best post for learning about grading. You provided the pics and Rick Snow's grading guide then, you gave the TPG grade. I just downloaded his printout last week. I'm still learning, ( I'm to embarrassed to post) and did not but did it at home. This is great you did this. A learning experience.
