How does it happen that a seller with "coins" in their name, feedback totling 14,700 @100%, put something like that up? And there've been 14 bids on it.

On the far left hand side across from the Description and Shipping & Payment tabs there is a Report item in blue, click on it and go through the steps.

Frank Cooper, thanks for reporting this.
MeadowviewCollector, thank you for telling me how to report this. I went through the steps so that I can report these things myself in the future.

Help a brutha out and tell me why you think it's fake, please. Sure looks real to me but I'm relatively new to collecting. I would say it's his lighting and a cleaning. He doesn't say that it's a 64L.

If you cannot even name the correct type of coin, I think it is rather irresponsible to be calling it a fake. This is a cupronickel 1864 with a rounded bust as stated in the auction, the 1864L is a bronze coin with a pointed bust. The rim looks "wrong" because it is a Very Late Die State coin with die crumbling that affects the rim- it is essentially a series of small Cuds.

Quote:I am a relative newbie but this 1864 L on ebay does not look right to me. The surface, date and lower rim look wrong compared to other photo's of this year. It's listed as a '64 copper-nickel, not the bronze L. It does look incredibly clean...

It is a shocking orange but fake? Not sure why? Maybe I'm missing something.

I don't see anything on this coin that points to it being a counterfeit. You claim it is a fake but provide no supporting data to back up your claim. I think you need to be 100% sure before accusing anyone of selling a fake.
