I originally had a 1986 ASE NGC MS69 for my Type Set before I moved to a PCGS Registry Set (it's a little different than the 7070). After I sold it, I kinda forgot about it...until now.

I think West Point ASEs are cool, especially since I gave up my 96-W Roosevelt.

Thank you for your interest!

Nice pick up. Most of the ones I have seen were in slabs. I got 18 direct from the Mint and sold most of them...I think I have only 4 left

I would suggest getting it into a PCGS or NGC slab but that choice is obviously yours....

What's the 'going rate' (average market price) for this variety? Probably out of my league, I'm just curious.

This one sold a couple of days ago but they have been in the $920-980 range for 70's and $480-600 for the 69's

And this was the year I chose to order only one from the mint. Not complaining b/c the one they sent was the error coin. And I hit it just right in that that was the last time I ordered any from the mint.

But back then I normally ordered two ASEs. It just happened 2008 was the year I decided to order a proof and an Unc. instead of two Uncs. And if it were not for this forum, I would not have known the difference.

I talked with the LCS and he said he knew of a guy who got 40 of them that year!

Here is a little article on the Reverse of 2007;

"The variety can be identified by examining two aspects of the reverse design. On the Reverse of 2007, the "U" in "United States" will be bowl shaped and the dash between the words "Silver" and "One" will be shaped like a tilde. On the reverse of 2008, the "U" will have a spur on the right side of the letter and the dash will be angled."
