It ends pretty shortly, about 10:25 pm est so I thought I'd give everyone heads up I don't think I'm supposed to post links yet so here's the ebay auction title if you want to search it out maybe someone else can add the link...
1916-D MERCURY 10 CENTS -FULL BANDS- NICE UNCIRCULATED RARE IN BRILLIANT UNC! It's at $8,600.00 right now
One would think with 158,000+ auctions and a "valuable" coin like this, this guy could offer up a better picture but we all know why he can't If it's real I'd say NNC was pretty conservative on the MS64 grade too but it's hard to say for sure with pictures like these...

NNC is a basement slabber, there's not a good chance it's real just from that fact alone.

You can post links by the way just not to stuff you're selling for promotional purposes

Can't really tell from the pics but the "D" looks odd to me....

The D does look strange, it has the small rotation which is associated with the 1916D but I'm not an expert on this stuff.

Looking at your comments alone, I wouldn't dare bid on this one. However, looking at the pictures I think the coin is genuine, if not higher than AU and Centsles is an honest seller (90% of his stuff is NNC slabbed) even if he has let his service decline in the past few months.

its genuine

its dipped and those are scans so its MS Details at best

the rub with this guy is that he tries to pass it as problem free but he is not selling a fake coin. he just thinks he knows better than the other TPGs but its against our collective grain so we rightfully shun his practice...all good IMO

I think the coin is real it's just been dipped to death.

Real world slabbing will render it NET graded AU Details.....(maybe).

If I'm going to spend almost 12 grand on a coin (which will probably never happen) I'm going to make sure it's from someone reputable. Couldn't imagine forking out that much for what I'm seeing in that auction.

I doubt that this one's genuine. Yet, there's no close-up pic. Perhaps, we can eventually see by the feedback?

I would have never even considered this coin. To many negative factors.

Basement slabber, cleaned to death, no guarantee it's genuine.

I guess some folks have 11 grand to risk...not me.

Greed probably. Theyre thinking theyll cross it and turn it into a 25 or 40k+ coin in a PCGS or NGC slab, but are blinded by greed and dont realize if that were possible the seller would have done that themselves.

Knowing who the seller is now I would venture to guess it came out of a details slab of PCGS or NGC already

Most of his negative feedbacks are from over graded coins.

centles - I knew it before I clicked on the link. He has been discussed at length here on CCF. A lot of his higher end coins come from top tier slabs with details issues. Crack out artist.

basebal21 nailed it.

He purchases an MS-60 cleaned coin for $7,500, cracks it out, puts it in one of his MS-64 NNC holders and sees a $4,350 profit.
