Hi Guys,

I think I just found my first error coin. Tell me its true (or not).

Sorry for the crappy pics.... my stereoscope and extension tubes should be arriving in the next week.

Thanks!

Even with the dark spot it looks like one to me. As for myself I'll keep looking as I yet to find one. Nice find!

I've got a question:
Are WAMs considered an error or a variety?
I thought it was a variety,,.

Matteproof you have a valid point it is not technically a error but a Wrong Design (WD) varieties... a error would be a die crack, clipped planchet or Cud..

Awesome find error or not....

Thanks! And thanks for the clarification on the error/variety! I could see it as being considered an "error" in that the mint didn't intend to use the wrong design for the reverse.... but at the same time, there is nothing wrong with the reverse design that was used. I guess the Wide AM would be considered a "Major" variety then? as opposed to a "Minor variety"?

A variety can be repeated. Aka- many WAMS, M/M, Double Dies can be made because its on the die. An error is a mess up during the minting process. (this is how I understand it..not the most graceful of explainations) :)
