Poll Question
I am starting this topic out of curiosity and want to know what the majority of people here use to store their coins (At least as far as albums go). I have one Dansco album actually two, but I don't use the National Parks one anymore since I abandoned the hunt for those from circulation. However, I have the one Dansco album that houses all the State Quarters and Territories P&D that I completed from circulation. I love the album for circulated grade coins and lower value circulated grades. However, the albums and products I prefer for the rest of the coins I collect which are vastly ungraded uncirculated grades is Lighthouse. I love their albums, coin pages, banknote pages and capsules. I highly recommend this company for the storage of your more valuable or uncirculated collections. I will admit though everything is far more pricey then a Dansco or Whitman, but for my preferences it is worth it. Another thing I prefer over Lighthouse than over all the other products is the aesthetics as well as the peace of mind I get from using them. I use the padded leatherette albums so it looks really unique and when you pick it up it feels cool. I just thought I would throw this in there because I never see anyone talking about Lighthouse albums or products.

I use Dansco and like the Lighthouse but they're a bit too bulky!

I removed ALL my sets from various Dansco, Whitman and other albums and put them into 2x2's housed in archival quality pages, albums. I large undertaking but infinitely worthwhile.

Abou 60/40 dansco and Whitman. Most UNC sets in dansco. Circulated sets in Whitman. I also like whiman's 20th century type album.

I agree with trout1105... all of mine now in 2x2 and archival pages. Beautiful and safe.

I voted for Dansco, but they are what I have. But I have never forgiven them for including a slot for the 22 'Plain' Lincoln Cent. NOT a regular issue, but a bad strike. A number of members have forsaken commercial albums altogether for custom-designed albums to suit their preferences. A trend that I would want to see continued. "Submit NOT to the Tyranny of the Album."

Quote: Intercept shield You're aware about the way-too-small hole sizes for some coins in the Type Set album, right? But I have to agree partly, because the overall quality of them seem good.

I understand the reasoning for the vast majority using Dansco.
There is another thing I love about Lighthouse though is that they have album pages for coins in capsules which I use for my European Union 2 Euro coin collection. All those coins are Brilliant Uncirculated so I put each of them in their own capsule and then into the album pages. So far this is the only company that I know of that has these pages or at least ones as stylish and functional.

I was a Whitman Folder guy for years. When I found CCF and learned albums were better, I got a Whitman album to try it. The coin variations Whitman included or excluded didn't really fit with my collection, but the Dansco albums did. I only have Dansco now

I fall under the "other" category. I make my own coin albums, if you will, by putting archival BCW coin pages in a large spiral binder. I have a binder for each of my two favorite types of coins; Lincoln cents, and nickels. The coins in these two sets, which are all in 2x2s, go in the pages in date order, and Voila! I have a custom made album that doesn't include slots for ultra rare and expensive varieties. The coin pages are aesthetically pleasing enough for me, although I couldn't care less about what type of album my coins are stored in. All that I really care about is having the coins themselves!
