Thanks again Dave. I am feeling torture right now as I have recently missed (winning bid) on some very cool error coins. The only good thing is that they were expensive and now I don't have to fork out the cash for them. The photos I woulda got wouda blown us away, bummer.
This coin stuff is almost to much work, lol

Count me in again Dave if that's ok. Just let me know when. I have to find the right ones and get them ready. Would you by chance be doing PCGS and NGC, or just the latter? Reason I ask is that I'd be interested in sending a couple of notes into PCGS if you're doing both. If not, I still have a couple of coins I would like to do for sure.
Thanks

I'm figuring to leave this thread up for a few days, and get things finalized by the end of the week. Considering the wait for coins to arrive here, etc., I don't see much chance of getting a submission out before the 13th of August or so. Tights24, I'll react to whatever people wish to happen. As I said, the only material I have would want to go to NGC for attribution as PCGS doesn't do those varieties. We'd have to make a minimum for notes, as well.

Would the sender fill out the paper work, or would you?

I do all of the legwork. All the sender has to do is specify any attributions and estimate grade for insurance value (we can work together on that). I honestly wouldn't recommend PCGS for variety slabbing; they get an additional $15, varieties have to be under a separate submission subject to minimums, and the turnaround time is delayed. Furthermore, they only attribute a limited number of varieties.

I am definitely interested. I have at least 2 coins that I would like to get graded, perhaps more. I assume that you are going to go with the 'economy service' to keep costs down? I have a slight preference for PCGS due to slightly higher resale, but either would be fine.

Dave, I have a few coins I would like to submit. I would prefer PCGS, but would be happy with NGC as well. I have a couple of Franklins that I would like to have slabbed and I have a 2006-W ASE Bu that I think might turn a "70". Maybe wishful thinking, but these old eyes see a 70. Would love to have a 2006-W ASE PCGS MS-70. I will follow the thread and watch for any update for this endeavor. Thanks Dave, very kind of you to go through the trouble for the members, great leadership. Berry

So folks, I know Dave won't be on here until this afternoon as he works the early hours of the day. Having said that, I think I was being selfish even bringing up the question of possibly doing both services. My honest opinion, Dave has offered to do us a service in a submission to NGC as that's where he needs to send some coins for attribution. I know he is a nice enough person to not refuse anyone PCGS submissions as well, but I don't think it's fair. I was involved in the last submission he did, and I'm not sure everyone realizes the time and effort he puts into these, from photos to paperwork, to out of pocket expenses up front, mailing, etc etc. Having said that, I think we should respect his offer and time, and send to him what we want graded by NGC and NGC only. Now, if he wants to do both because he loves us so much, that's up to him. But we should not put him on the spot per say, and if he says NGC only, we should be happy to have that option to begin with.

Count me in for some 2 Cents if you can wait until after the 9th of Aug as I am not at home at the moment. What a surprise!

HI dave, I'd participate in a PCGS submission for two or three raw coins. I also have a couple slabbed coins I'd like to try to crossover to PCGS. If there are a couple more crossover candidates you could hit the minimum 5 coins for the Economy crossover tier. It would require a separate submission form but crossovers could ship along with the raw coins.
I'd like to suggest that everyone that does participate please toss in a little extra cash to help offset Dave's costs. Last time he charged a very low amount for return shipping and I think he probably came up short. It's worth an extra $5 or $10 to me for Dave to organize the effort and take those fine photographs. Sound fair?

In almost all cases, I would recommend PCGS over NGC, due to greater resale trends. However, the more expertise you require to appreciate the coin, the less the slab counts, if you know what I mean. I need to submit to NGC because I'm having my raw Long Nocks attributed for their Registry, and PCGS doesn't attribute them. However, I also have a couple of 1921-D's which will do equally well at either service. So, here's what we do. If you haven't yet, post specifically what you have to submit, to whom you'd prefer, and I'll edit a running tally in the first post of this thread. Nohope587 is, again, the person who got me started on this, so the submission waits for his input. I still think a target ship during the week of the 13th is feasible. Tonight, though, I'm packing ebay auctions so I won't be able to do much thinking here.
