I have had this coin since the GSA had their sale and have always wondered if it would grade higher than MS63. Any ideas? Sorry about the color - my camera didn't have the right light.

I don't think it'd grade higher than 63, I think it'd be right at 63. However, looking at the reverse, especially the eagle, I think thw coin might be PL. Better pictures?

I think it tops at 63. Little too much chatter in the focal points to go any higher IMO.

Just might squeak out a MS64 grade, but I feel more confident if I was buying this at MS63 pricing or lower.

63 with no chance at PL.
May I ask what was the original sales price of the GSA Morgans?

Thanks all for your input ... I never did consider this coin for PL status but I understand why, because of my poor photos, it may have been mentioned. Mattproof - I looked up what info I could find on my purchase and found that in 1980 I only bid on 3 coins ( not knowing that I was missing out a on a BIG opportunity and probably also I didn't have much $$ to spend at my young age then.) I paid $4 for a mixed mint mark circulated Morgan, $6 for a mixed mint mark uncirculated Morgan, and $15 for a mixed year CC uncirculated Morgan ( which this one is). If only I had made a specific bid on the better year CC's as they also went for 'low' prices. Oh well, at least a got a few of them :)

I'm thinking you're probably OK with this one being a lowly 63, then.
