I almost don't want to think about it but this is one of the first coins I purchased years back when I was trying to build my first set and was not the most knowledgeable person on the block. Forgot about it and decided to organize my chaos the other day when I crossed it again. Sometimes it's easy to be in denial with what's in front of you. Especially if it's not written, stamped, and carved in stone lol!

Why, of course!
You're not going to get much from selling it, so keeping's the best.

Thx everyone! Dar it will be safe I'm a Missourian so lots of long driveways and firearms lol! Knowing your banks president doesn't hurt either. Anyway, I was trying to look up info on the business strikes of this year. This coin does have some nice edge and rim qualities and I just wanted to do a curiosity comparison. Can someone help me with a link/info?

I am not sure what you are asking If you think it may be a proof, it is not since matte proofs were only minted 1909-1916.

Matte proof Lincolns were minted from 1909-1916, and supposedly illegally minted in 1917 with at least one surviving example out there. So, there's not even a single chance that this is a matte proof.

Yes I most certainly agree it is not a matte. I'm not going to jump to conclusions either. I'm an under promise over deliver kind of person. However, the 1917 matte was an undocumented coin as well. I recommend to anyone and everyone to visit ANA's library or our Nations archive and see what has been minted and not found. I found it surprising.
