Does a 1895 S far date exist or this is just an indicator of a fake 1895 S ?

There's no mention of a far date position on VAMworld and it sure looks like a fake to me.

The only thing that sold it a fake for me was the 9 in the date, anything else that raises red flags? The denticles look pretty well struck

The 9 digit looks way off.
I was going to suggest it came from an 85S. However, the only 85s with far date is VAM-5 and the mintmark doesn't match this coin.
So it could be from 85p with added mintmark too.

That severely tilted "9" definitely is a red flag. The first "S" in "STATES" doesn't look quite right, either. Hve you weighed this coin and/or checked its specific gravity so as to determine if it's an altered coin or a total forgery? Of course, in either case it's a loser.

The 9 in the date is conclusive, and sufficient. Fake or faked.

Without question this is a Fake or a date job where the 9 is made. I would check 1885 p VAM's to see where a match would fall. It could be an added mint mark and (9)

Falling over "9". If you are gonna produce a fake will you at least make an effort to make it appear plausible.

Hmmm... this new one is pretty tough.
But my gut instinct telling me that this one is also fake.
First, there is no VAM listing for 95s with high mintmark.
And second, the date position doesn't match to any listed 95s.

I'd say the second one's also a phony simply on the basis of how much more the obverse appears to be worn (low XF) than the reverse (high AU or even BU).

May I ask (in general terms) what the source of these was? There in Italy, online, or ?
