Three.
A 2007-P Adams dollar, a 1971 Ike dollar, and a 2013 ASE. Pretty hefty for just $3.

One.
It's a 1967 British large penny.
If I recall correctly that was the last year the large penny was made for circulation.
More were struck in 1969 but just as a collectible.

I'm currently toting a 1942 Walking Liberty half dollar (because I like the sound of silver jingling) and a 1972 Ike (because it's impressively large).

Just one 40% half. I don't carry it all the time, but when I do, it's always that. Obverse pic:

One or two. My regular pocket piece lately is a 1969 Kennedy half that I got from circulation for face. And sometimes a silver or clad Ike, depending on the mood.

EDIT: Almost forgot...I also carry a nickel-sized Irish Claddagh token that my girlfriend (now wife) gave me several years ago.

Just one for me
How-Many-Pocket-Pieces-Do-You-Carry

Now here is where it gets interesting... my brother carries SEVEN pocket pieces.... yes I said seven.

1 ounce silver round

1879 Morgan

1943 Walking Liberty half

1964 Washington quarter

1964 Roosevelt dime

1943P Jefferson War Nickel

1939 German 5 Mark

Totaling up ASW 1+.7735+.3617+.1808+.0723+.0563+.4016=2.8462

He carries them around with a $1 FRN so he can show off the differences of what a dollar once was and what it's been reduced to.

The round is in an airtight the rest are in 2x2 flips, He's not worried about wear and patina just a talking point to show kids what 'Real' money is... and the kids just keep getting older.

I had gotten a bank teller interested in silver (not the best plan now I have CRH competition at the source but it's OK) she was amazed that the old US silver was only 90% silver. I had to explain that 100% is too soft, but an alloy of 10% copper keeps it from rubbing away and makes it stronger.

It's not the piece, but the story with the piece that is important

I talk to him about CCF all the time, we share a house, I'm in the BEAUTIFULY COOL unfinished basement, he's upstairs in the heat of the summer.

He's more into video games than coins and truth be told he's a silver stacker not a coin collector.

Some of my comments come directly from him, if he has a coin question that I can't answer I ask it here. So in one sense he already has joined simply by the extension of me joining, we don't share the account thou.

With as busy as he is trying to keep the mini-warehouse business our parents started from going under, and his other interests he would not have much time for it.

Edit: spelling

Do I have a pocket piece? Well, umm, yes. Just a few.

I have a key ring with coins that I bought top center holed just for the ring. It currently has the following coins:

1921 Morgan - AU.
1846 Large Cent (Med. Date) Counter stamp "CORTH" - AG
1917 SLQ Type 1 S mint mark (Smooth Date) - AG
1866 2 Cent - Fine
1865 3 Cent Nickel with an RPD - XF
1853 Seated half dime (Must have been MS-64 details when I bought it! WHY did they drill a hole in it!?)
1853 3 Cent Silver - Good

These coins all fit by size, in the order listed above, so that you can just see the rim of the next coin with the 3 cent silver on top. I also have a US Mint Quarter Holder that I won on CCF in the Virtual Hobo Nickel contest with an 1899 Barber (AG) in it now. I like to change this one out from time to time using low grade type quarters or the newest quarter I find in change.

And, as if the key ring above wasn't enough, I carry a silver plated 1972 Ike money clip to hold my "I Buy Coins" business cards. Two loose clad Ike dollars (a 1971-D - AU and a 1976-D Bicentennial. - AU) An 1899-O Morgan and a 1922 Peace dollar, just in case someone asks if I have a coin they can flip. I also carry my first SBA and SAC small dollars in my watch pocket, both are slowly wearing away.

I'm also working on a pocket watch that has a clear flat bezel on each side. A large cent just fits in the snap-on bezel ring, but it is too thick, so I'm slowly filing away the reverse of an 1855, slanted 55, that was carved up by someone on the reverse. The obverse is XF and should look great in the finished product.

ALL of these coins were bought damaged or found in change over the years.

So yes, I guess you can say I have a few pocket pieces and yes it's a heavy key ring. I've been warned by a locksmith that it's too heavy and will wear out my ignition switch. But I drive less than 5000 miles per year, so it shouldn't cause any problems, for me anyway.

Oh, wait, I always carry golden dollars just to spend, but I would guess that these don't really count.

Ben

So what do you think? Am I a little nuts? OCD? Too much time on my hands? I do like the looks I get when the store has to scan the little discount barcode card on the same key ring.

ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!

That is why I have 3 key chains... evens out the load in my pockets and puts less stress on the ignition.

and a BIG PLUS! I always have a set of car keys in my pocket so less chance of locking the keys in.
