Yep, I can get a good image through the adapter when not on the camera (albeit very small). But when back on the camera, out of focus. By the way, I have tried all of this on two separate Canon Ti1's with the same result. Let me ask this, should there not be some sort of fine focusing on the tri port as I can do on the diopter adjustment ring on the eyepiece? I believe if I had that I would be ok.

The adapter appears to be made for the camera, correct? If so the register distance should be dialed-in and no adjustment needed. Only adjustment is to make sure the camera is at its best focus when the eyepieces are (ie they are "parfocal").
You say "albeit very small". If the image is very small, are you really sure it is as sharp as the eyepieces? You might consider using a magnifying glass to take a critical look at the image.

Have done some reading about "parfocal". Think I understand that but not sure how to obtain it. Would it have anything to do with differences in the canon adapter and eyepiece, ie, canon adapter is marked 2X (mag) and the eyepiece is 10X/20?

No, should not be relevant. Only the extension from the mount will make a difference. Sort of like adjusting each eyepiece so they have the same focus.

I didn't think that was significant. Still don't understand why there is no fine focus on the tri port as there is on the regular port. If the assumption is that a fine focus is necessary for the eyepiece, why would the same assumption not hold true for the tri port?

Are both eyepieces adjustable, or just one?

Since both are adjustable, there would be no need to provide adjustability on the trinoc port.

http://www.coincommunity.com/forum/...26_image.jpgHave you tried adjusting with this part? It seems to have helped me a little. I JUST got my camara today for it and am experimenting. I also found some links on you tube about Am-scope products and am looking at them as well.

Will Do But you Do have to admit, (well, I do), that the scope is AWESOME! Now to get the picture's done correctly. I'll work on it and see if we can get this done!

For comparison, here is a pic with my camera in the hole for one of the eyepieces. I have to hold it steady by hand as none of the adapters that came with the scope fit in the eyepiece hole. Either something is not right or I am just not smart enough to make it happen. Yep, the scope is great; I have found a couple of 1972 LMC DDO's that I would have missed with my loupe.

Might be a silly question but, do you think that it might be dirt or something in the trinoc port? Also, if you haven't already, I had to call AmScope for a soft ware up grade and they have a " camera expert" there when talking about their scope. Have you tried contacting them? The toll free # is: 1-888-950-2888I talked to a guy named Edward and he transferred me to the so-called camera guy. If you have tried 2 different bodies on the scope then maybe they can help? I'll still see what I can figure out as well. If I can that is. but I'll try. just to add, I got a 64 lamped dimmable LED ring light for it in the mail today, So far works out good. Just have to adjust WB when changing magnification levels sometimes. I'm most likely doing something wrong but, This IS my first time with this type of equipment.

After seeing the adapter I'm betting the issue is with that 2x lens on the end of it. Does it skew off? If so dump it and try just the camera adapter with no lens in it. Betting that might solve your issue.
Does the camera go into the try-slot and you need to get closer or farther to get focused? In or out of focus, even if it's not coming to perfect focus you should be able to tell if the camera is moving closer but stopping as the image comes close to focus, if it's going in or towards the coin then the adapter is too long, if it's going out then you will need to add an extension tube onto the camera to get more out focus.
I'm betting you need more in focus to reach the critical focus area. after seeing the setup now. That 2x lens may not be needed on the adapter tube.

Also is the tube a .965" diameter on your camera adapter? I'm betting it's smaller than the eyepieces, which may be 1.25" Also which model AmScope is yours Jprine? I'm betting we can sort this out, I've tackled tougher issues when I sold telescopes, this is most likely a distance issue after seeing the photo of your whole set-up.
