2005-D Bison Error?

Are you talking about the lines above 'U' 'R' and across the L? are they recessed or above the coin surface?

Raised lines are likely die cracks.

I couldn't guess the value. You could check the bay and see if any have sold.

after more examination the lines are concave. How could this be PMD if the gauge seems to go under the L?

Might of been planchet damage prior to the strike.

I hate when that happens!

If it really is Under the L then I would agree with Indian1 - that the damage may have happened before the coin was struck.

But it looks like it the damage may have occurred a little above the bottom of the L and the split continued under the L after impact. But I'm guessing. It really depends upon what photo I look at.

I've had coins with similar-looking PMD -- when I thought it was a die crack or gouge but it wasn't --makes my eyes hurt after awhile. LOL
