I inherited these from my mother a few years ago and am curious if they are of value or if I should just turn into the bank. A couple of them appear to be silver and I think that shows up in the scan. Eric *** Edited by Staff - Please Review the rules that you agreed to when you registered. ***

to CCF. The last thing you want to do is just taking them to a bank for face value. The two to the right of the top row are silver dollars (left: Peace dollar, right: Morgan dollar), the one next to the dime in the third row is a silver Walking Liberty half dollar, and the coin next to it is a Morgan silver dollar. They are worth well over face value. 1) Don't clean them (detracts value). 2) Post better, close-up pics of both the front and the back of the coins mentioned above (as well as other coins, if possible).

A coin shop would give you around $60 for the coins pictured. The might not want to buy the coins that are not silver.

1901 Morgan dollar - worth about $20-25. What mint? (Found on the reverse under the eagle's tail feathers) 1921 Morgan dollar - worth about $20 1924 Peace dollar - about $20. What mint? (reverse near tip of the wing) 1971 Ikes - about $1-1.25 each depending on who you ask. 1979 SBA dollar - Face value (although one looks to be a wide rim... those are a bit over face) 2000 Sacagawea dollar - Face value, but Google "Cheerios Dollar" before spending 1940 Walking Liberty half - around $10 Kennedy halves - Face value 1981 dime - Face value. Looks gold plated, which doesn't add to the value. Date less Buffalo nickel - 10-25 cents Cent - what's the date? The foreign coins are worth the exchange rate. Silver is pretty cheap right now, so don't sell anything if that is your ultimate plan.

I am thinking you do have both a wide and narrow rim SBA there, but I will let others weigh in. The 1938 cent is worth about 5 cents--they are difficult to sell except in bulk.

I think the SBA's are both wide rims. The foreign coins? Worth the exchange rate? What? Just take them to any bank or spend them at the store. You'll get face for them. However, if they're Canadian (almost certain they are), they might be 99% nickel, and are worth more than face in metal value...and are being melted down by the Royal Canadian Mint. However, they'd be hard to sell with only two of them.
