I found this today, and I'm not exactly sure what to call it. It appears to be a genuine clip, because you can see the Blakesley Effect on the opposite side. However, I'm not totally sure what it is, as it doesn't look like any clips I've ever seen. What do y'all think?

This one doesn't look right. I think someone was trying to replicate a clip. PSD

The rim and edge are tapered as you would expect to find on a genuine clip, this one just happens to be very small.

The weakening devices are the indicator of the real deal. Nice Blakesley on the obverse.

So this is a genuine clip, just a small one. A definite keeper for my error collection.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to comment.
Rest in Peace

The green illustration of overlapping punches shows a circle in the lower left corner that has a clip similar to that of your coin.

Seems that the smallest ones are the rarest.....maybe?

My apologies Rollsearcher. Among some other details I thought the weakness at the T in LIBERTY should not be this weak at the Blakesley affected area. But looking at other clipped coins on ebay I see the weakness does occasionally continue into the letters and are not always just at the rim. I stand corrected.

Don't feel bad pyrbob; I've made some mistakes that seem right at the time, but examining other facts can sometimes put things in a totally new light.

I'm open to any and all opinions, as it can get a good discussion going.
