Don't want to bust your bubble, but unless they are nice uncirculated coins then I find the 525 profit a little out of reach.
Take them to your local coin shop and see how much they offer you for them.
That's how you can tell how well you did.

Appreciate your enthusiasm for the purchases. Curious where in that listing of varied numismatic acquisitions is the theme for your collection - perhaps you are still forming a focus for your collecting efforts? Wondering as well what item(s) lead you to believe you scored a profit of $525? As your friends at CCF - we wish to support your collecting efforts and also introduce some reality when needed. David

If the older coins are circulated, evens with the moderns MS, and even the slabbed silver quarter, etc $100 is about right. With the Panda being the majority of that. Quite the assortment though! Congrats, I'm glad to hear you had fun!

I can see the panda being valued at $50. It could have been more had it been ms70.

$325 sound more reasonable.

Just curious. Where are you from? I'm not sure I've hear of a coin show called a convention. Not sure what you mean by grapevine. Only cost 100 on the dot? I must be getting old but just not aware of what this means. As to the coins, what are the conditions? And dinks, dents, scratches, etc.? Mostly does sound like you made some great deals though. Hopefully those are all in good shape.

Grapevine is a city in North Texas near DFW airport (in fact the airport is technically within the limits of Grapevine). There is a quarterly show - decent sized - at the Grapevine Convention Center.

I wanted to go to the Grapevine show, but my new fiancée said we need to save for the wedding. :( So I have to buy my stuff at the LCS under the radar for now. :) Just kidding, but I couldn't justify the show expense when we should be saving cash right now.

I quit going to the Grapvine show, never really found much I could use that added to my collections, and in the few cases I did find a coin or two, they were always vastly overgraded, cleaned and the dealers wouldn't deal with me from the listed price on the coins, usually double or more what they were worth. I also HATE paying an entrance fee, I know it's only $3.00 but the dealer table costs are already pretty high compared to other shows of the same size in other states I've been to, and IMO not worth it, why pass on another cost to the public that wants to attend?

I well know what you mean. By me we have at least 4 coin shows a Month and all are free to get in. Parking too is free. At one there is a table with donuts and coffee for free too but almost everyone tips the guy that serves the coffee. And that show usually has well over 80 dealers. Used to be larger but for some reason getting smaller lately.

Sounds like coin shows I attend justcarl! Always tip the coffee guy, though I usually bring my own along. Having my own great espresso machine is no match for most of the coffee served out there.

At many shows the dealer table prices just cover the expenses. The group putting on the show pretty much makes their money on the raffle ticket sales and the entrance fee if any. So you either have the entrance fee, or you raise those "already pretty high" table fees.
