May be jumping the gun a little, due to the fact this coin needs maybe some TLC. However, there are some things I see that may lead to an interesting outcome and then some are not as noticeable or lacking due to the grit and what not. The neck goes out a little further than what it may seem. I was looking at what is hopefully a top of a seven, lines in top loop of last 8 that seems to be on the snow-1, possible bottom of 7, and similar characteristics below the 1 in date. More or less looking to see if there are other markers I should look for. Despite how the coin looks, feathers have full detail so far. Somebody just didn't store it properly to say the least... Thank you :-)

Need some more light in those pictures. Date looks like it is in the wrong spot though. The "1" is too far forward to the front of the bust.

I'm not excluding it but we get at least one of these a month and 99% are always "not an 1888/7".

Yeah, can you lighten the pics?

Even though the photos are very poor, this is not an 1888/7. Date position is wrong and I don't see a Cud at 9:00 on obverse. Remember this is the top IHC variety and very few examples are known.

Well, to be fair, I posted one a few months ago on here that I knew was real, nobody else agreed with me, and now I have it in a PCGS holder, so you never know! But this one here is not the 1888/7.

Could you please post a picture or link to the original discussion? Anyone who finds an actual Snow-1 1888/7 deserves a good amount of fanfare. I try to notice any genuine IHC finds posted to CCF

Regarding the OP's coin-- I can see the date position is different from the Snow-1--markers pictured below:

Sorry, I was mistaken. I actually posted it over on cointalk. I was discouraged with that so I just sent it to Rick instead and didn't post it here.

Wow--I just don't get that conversation. I mean, even with slightly fuzzy pics the overdate is abundantly clear--the date position is spot-on; the 8/7 is very obvious, even the weak 8th feather tip is there--no arrows are needed:

A big congratulations from all of us IHC variety seekers here!

Thanks DV! I should have posted here in the first place then I spend a lot of time looking for IHC varieties; it's pretty fun.

Sorry you missed out on the ticker-tape parade you would get here. I mean, this is a hard to find, most sought-after IHC variety.
I understand a certain amount of skepticism, but when the markers are staring you in the face--it's time to celebrate!
