OK, so it's apparently a cedar nut rather than a pine cone or pineapple.

1622 Zurich Batzen. Almost missed this. For some reason I remembered it as 1621. 1622 CIVITATIS IMPERIALIS MONE:NOVA:THVRICENSIS

I'm actually not sure if this coin is 1622 or 1621. (It's a two-year type, so it cannot be anything else.) I personally believe it's 1622, so I'm posting it under this date, but it's hard to say. I also have no idea if it's real (or, at least, that it's not a contemporary fake). It's about the same color as it looks like in the photo... or maybe a little less purplish (in case you want to do color correction, the background is supposed to be blank white paper), but what little catalogues I've seen all say "silver". Maybe it's actually billon; I've never actually seen a photo of any example of this type except mine (and the low-resolution grayscale picture in Krause). Bohemia, 1/4 kreuzer 1622(?). Uniface (I included a low-res photo of the "other side" for completeness). Supposedly silver; your guess as to whether it looks like silver. I asked for the identification of this coin in one of my first CCF posts ever, over four years ago. Sadly, the replies in that thread still basically sum up what I know about this mysterious coin today.

You said you think it's probably a 1622- is there a date on it somewhere?

Quote: You said you think it's probably a 1622- is there a date on it somewhere? Yes, I believe the date (22) is at 11-12 hours. It's just that, with so much extra metal all over the place (die breaks? if so, that die must've been in a really bad state) and awful reference pictures (when there are any), I'm not sure I'm reading it correctly.

Okay, I see it now. I'm pretty sure you're right about the date (and the die state for that matter).
