Thoughts on grade?

There may be some dust or hairs on it, but they are not marks on the coin. Third pic is inside a clear flip. The only defect I see is a tiny nick right in front of the nose.

Thanks for looking!

AU-55 coin exhibits high point wear. Possibly cleaned and retoned, maybe not but first two pics leave much to be desired. Try to take a pic on a background that's not the same color as the coin. I use a tan background for most coins.

I don't believe it shows any wear, and the color looks very original. I just have trouble with the photography. Here's some different lighting...

Hmmm that hit by the nose and the curls making me think high AU even though I am used to grading these circulated. I would not consider coins with circulation hits MS, but that is just me really. Plus the blending of a couple curls.

Much better pics. Sorry, but I still see high point wear on the curl below the ribbon and on the hair above the ear. I love the color though.

Looks like a very tiny bit of wear on the shield on the reverse so, I'll say AU58.
Nice coin..

I think it was somewhere between $30 and $40, pretty reasonable.

Nice coin.

And thanks for posting a update to this coin.

I have always thought that because taking a good picture is very hard to
do, that most times it is hard to get a correct grade from just a picture.

In my case my pictures make the coin look bad about 90% of the time.
About 10% of the time my pictures make the coin look better.

Anyway ..ll it does sound like you knew what you thought the grade would
be on this one.
