I found this penny in my penny jar and I was wondering if it was an error penny.it looks really unique to me. I had seen similar but not like this one. it has these chips or holes on front and back of the penny.

Sounds like zinc rot...but pictures would be a big help.

to CCF. I do not think it is an error. It looks like PMD or maybe zinc rot but the pattern of the "burst" gas bubbles looks "on purpose"

well it has the same pattern on the back side. I am still trying t upload it, and the sides of the rim are fine and smooth. it doesn't look like anyone did this to it. you would think that there would be more damage to it

It didn't leave the press looking like that. It is PSD. Nothing in the mint process could cause this.
