Hello

Is this for real ? I saw it on ebay.
I am sure others did also. Noticed lot's of so called error
coins. Also, those proof 2003-S 0r 2007-S lincolns, ghost coins. Where the last digit is barely visible or only half there.
A scam or a genuine error ?

Since I'm seeing part of the 'D' on the inside of the mintmark, I'm assuming real.

Check out https://www.coppercoins.com and look for the same variation and compare his photographs with the one that you have. It if matches up exactly, then it's probably real. Plus, it lists the current prices for the variation.

The 1955D cent appears that it could be 1955D-1MM-002, a real RPM. It may also not be, it could be Machine Doubling with odd lighting. It would have to be examined or photographed better to tell for sure.

The proof coins with the "ghost" letters are rather common. They are sold at a premium, but I question their long-term status as something worth that premium. I personally would not be in the market for them.

Here is an image of 1955D-1MM-002.
1955-D-Raised-Or-Double-D-?

I brought up images of this one and the one posted earlier. The separation looks different and no markers stand out on both coins. Not that markers have to be identical, but they may be the same on the approximate same die state. Both nothing matches there.

I went to Mr. D's site and looked at it. (nice site)
It looked to me like the RPM 001
But then the 002 looks close also.
Thank's
Sorry I missed the book naming contest.
