When I found the coin pictured I assumed it was damaged after minting but then I found four more in the roll with identical markings. Any idea what caused this? Also, every coin in the roll has a clear-whitish substance on it, could this be grease or something? I was reluctant to clean it off, any recommendations?
Or a dry way to do it is to take a piece of velvet and light slide the coin. (Don't press down hard and scratch the coin. Kind of a whisking of the power off. It this does not work, the try Racksters method. But a rule I usually follow is not to dip BU coins. I know a lot do, It is just a thing that I don't do. There are lots of BU rolls out there to snag. Why waste the time on common coin to find?
The substance on these coins is not powdery, it has more of a texture like silicone. I wanted to practice on these because the DDRs I found have the same substance on them and I wanted to remove it before I put them in 2X2s
