The following is an article excerpt from Coinweek
In case you have not figured it out yet, the reason I like "Pedigrees & Hoards" are because of the stories. For me, it is so much more fun to relate a story to coin collecting than to just try to fill holes in an album or slots in an NGC box. And now I am going to tell a story about the "Cleveland Wall of Greed Hoard" and in my next article about "The Miami Beach Mansion Hoard". I am going to refrain from getting philosophical about the hoards and will let you draw your own inferences.

That's a great story ... sad, but makes a point.

These Pedigrees & Hoards articles really light a fire in me! I love reading about them, thanks for posting on them. This one was just sad and from who it played out, it would seem the real estate agent is the dishonest and greedy one, most likely stole and spent the large chunk of the money, since she had it in her possession, she MUST know what happened to it. I wonder if the court will find her guilty of theft and give her some much needed jail time?

That star note in the first listed auction is simply spectacular.

And what a story to go with it. Thanks for sharing.

Very cool article! Stories of banknote hoards always make me wince a little on the inside, however. While it's cool that his hoard more than doubled in value since the 1940s, just imagine what $186k worth of silver dollars and/or halves would fetch today.
