How often can you find silver in the street? While out walking today I saw a dime in the street upon picking it up its a 1964 D it's a little beaten up but that's. OK

Wow. What are the chances of that? Someone dropped a dime, which happened to be silver, and a coin collector found it. Man. I only find silver in coinstar. Not on the street!

The last time I got silver of any kind back in change, was the first week I moved to WA at a Walgreens. I had moved there because I had nowhere to live and moved a few states away from everything in the middle of the night after getting in a fight with a relative on x mas eve and taking everything that would fit in my truck and leaving the rest. I had bought a tin of those sugar cookie things that they stock during the Holiday's, got in my truck and looked and saw a 64'. This was in 2013 of late December. I've never done one of those introduce yourself things on here, because most of you wouldn't believe some of the stuff I've been through in my life, but that was a nice gift.

(FUN FACT) Actually did u know the roads / highways of Alaska ARE paved in gold!... little known fact but they used old mine tailings as aggregate in the post ww2 boom so the streets are literally "paved with gold"

I've found silver next to my driveway. When I was a kid, my mom was digging up the grass to put in a flower garden next to the drive and pulled out a few Mercury dimes that she gave to me since I was the collector in the family.

I have a very clear memory from my childhood, probably back in 1963 or so, of walking home from an afternoon matinee at the local theater in Minneapolis, MN with two of my friends, Mike and Mark. One of them, I don't remember which one, was riding a bike while the other and I walked. He suddenly jumped off his bike, let it crash to the ground, and dove into the street along the curb. He came up with a Franklin half dollar in his hand. Boy, was I ever jealous!

When I was a teenager in the late 50`s I was doing weeding for a neighbor in Iowa. I dug up an old rusty bank and it had about 8$-9$ in silver. 2 Silver peace $ WL and Franklins and misc coins. Great find for a kid then.
The best part was an older neighbor lady, after I left and had showed her the find, I watched her out digging.
You cant find much silver anymore though.

I find silver often and gold occasionally. I metal detect. it's about five inches below the surface, anywhere there have been people for hundreds of years.

I've always wondered where the Silver Bullets that the Lone Ranger shot ended up.

In middle school I had a 1943 Merc roll right up to me while I was at my locker. I waited a bit to see if the person who dropped it would pick it up, but nope.
