Hello, I picked this up yesterday in an estate lot of various coins and silverware. I am sending it to PCGS next week. However in the meantime I was looking for any opinions on its authenticity, approximate grade, and variety type? Any help is greatly appreciated...

Well, now. Welcome to Coin Community, peaece13. You have obviously already done a lot of homework, and wouldn't be planning to submit if you didn't already have a pretty good idea. I am very much inclined to agree with your opinion, based on what I can see here. BB-241, B-6 from the missing right foot of the T in LIBERTY. The most common variety for the year. If this one's a fake, it's a very good one indeed. Can't comment on surface originality from these images but all the same nothing stands out in that regard. Details are probably XF - the hair may be iffy but the shield is strong. PCGS would probably go no more than XF40 and VF35 isn't out of the question. Quite the introduction.

Looks legit. At least the edge isn't reeded.

Idle question - did you mistype a letter in your username or is the spelling deliberate? If wrong, I can fix it for you.

Great coin! I agree, appears legit. I've got it pegged at VF25+

Wow, that is a heck of a coin. Congrats. That is quite a special coin to pickup in a mixed lot with silverware! What did the other coins in the lot look like?

What a fascinating coin, I've fallen in love with how sharp the sheild detail is. I'm not good with U.S. but I think that coin deserves no lower than VF-35, congrats.

@Olcoins It was an interesting lot, I really could only see some well circulated Washington quarters and a 1922 Peace dollar. I was really only pricing in the Sterling flatware and silver value of what I could see. However, there was a damaged 1893-p Morgan (still a nice find) and then there was an 1826 1/2 cent (pictured below.) Again thanks to all for the information and kind comments...
