I have a complete set of circulated walkers grading from Good to VF. The key dates are good to vg. What is the forums thoughts as to the best way to sell this set- Piece by piece or as a set.

Thanks,
JCR

Get some decents scans and/or photos and place them for sale on forums like this one (in the Buy/Sell/Trade section).

It will take a lot longer, but you will almost certainly realize more money selling 'piece by piece.'

I'm thinking piece by piece, too. There are many buyers out there who don't have enough money to buy the entire collection, but would jump at one of the keys or semi-keys. Why would you want to take them out of the sales equation? At least, that's my thinking.

Best of luck, whichever way you choose to go.

I was assuming the best way would be piece by piece.

Let me ask you this- Should I try to sell the common date stuff that isn't worth much more than melt or just sell them for the bullion. I think right now that would be a little over $5.00 per coin.

Thanks for all the input.

I start all auctions on things I know will sell (ie coins) at 99 cents. You will get bids which will draw attention and thus more bids and the most cash.

That's actually the tough question. If possible, I would compare the date and grade of the non key coins with the current pricing on grey sheets and any other bid/ask list. If they are over melt, which you are correct is about $5, I think I would sell as the coin in the coin section. If it's close or "iffy", I think I would almost put it in a second category when listing it and put them in the bullion section also.

Somehow you will need to make sure that your listing title has all of the key words when selling these to attract the buyers that are looking to fill holes AND the silver hoarders. Somthing like "1943 Walking Liberty half dollar US Coin Bullion Junk Silver". I didn't count the characters, and I don't remember what is allowed, but I think you get the idea. Bottom line, use every letter possible in the title to ensure you get at least melt value.

One coin at a time on ebay. Only way to go.
