Nice pull on those Bicentennial halfs...

I've yet to find one searching. But I've read that their are silver, so even a better score. Keep stacking man. For me, 1500 and only one very very lonely 1968. I guess one is the loneliest number, lol.

Put it in a small, cleaned, empty peanut butter jar with lid on tight.

Shake hard until it comes apart. I also find if I use s smaller container, it works better.

I was told to try using a glass. Despite using a very thick one, it still cracked the glass.

Or... you can go online and type in magic coin bang ring. The bang ring looks like a small piece of hollow tube. Put the half in one side of it and slam the open end down on a table. The insert pops out. These magician coins are typically sold with the bang ring.

I should have mentioned, these were machine-wrapped rolls, and I found a quarter in one. Has anyone else had that happen?

Last post I relayed the head teller said that they were afraid I was just going over the same stuff b/c they do not order from the fed - just use a large stash the banks system has here in town.

I can assure her I am not yet recycling as these 4 boxes yielded 2 40%, two proofs (2005 - newest proof found... and a 1980), a 1984 D and a 1971 RPM, 71D and a 72D clash that make JFK look like he has two rhino horns on his nose, an 89 that has every detail in JFKs hair (hard to find a quality strike in this year - best I have yet seen), a gold plated 2008 I had to apply some acetone to to "get the red out/off," and a 1972 DDO (Chuckster, I can't believe it it!)

Stumled onto someone's dump of proofs. From most recent 3 boxes must have pulled 100+ proofs in great but not perfect condition. Spread across years 70's, 80's, 90's and a very few naughts. Multiples of '79 and '81. A few very good '87 P's and D's. I'll keep what I want but will have a bunch left. Any advice on what I should do with them? I've no patience for ebay but I do have a monthly local coin show was thinking of bringing them and seeing interest. generally what's the expectation for very good but not perfect prrofs?

So I got 2 more boxes today and after I had my best box ever last Thursday I just got 2 more good boxes.

That is 23 40% and 10 64's in my last 3 boxes

I also started weighing my boxes before I go through them to see if the ones that weigh more have more silver. Here are the results.

(1) 25.3 - 1(9 40% and 9 64's)
(2) 25.5 - 1(6 40% and 1 64) and 1(8 40%)
