Okay finished my last four boxes for this week, 3 skunks, still pulled 2-64 one of each, 1-65, and 1-68-Hope you all have a wonderful weekend, also best of luck on your searches.

This question has probably been asked about 800 posts ago, I'm just to lazy to look for it. (Reference boxes) I'm assuming you open the top of the box and look for end'ers first; close the top, flip it over and check the bottom for end'ers.
I want to compare my notes with yours. Question: True or False. In your personal opinion and experience; if you find an end'ers, is it generally a good sign that you'll find silver on the inside?

My take on that: If you find any silver then it is a higher chance that you will find more. This is not limited to enders. Statistically, 1/10 silvers will end up on an end. Silver will get mixed into the regular supply via a dump, or an old stock getting brought out. They counting and rolling machines mix the stuff up, but getting 1000 coins at a shot will give you a lot of coins from the same source. In other news- I skunked 2 boxes today. And was short $5 to boot. I don't know if the counting machine at them or the rolls were short or what, but that hurts. |

You figure that there are 100 enders per box. If you have 5 enders, in theory, you should end up with around 50 good coins if the law of averages takes effect... Halves are kind of a different animal though... I've never had more than 2 silver enders in a box (and one of those was a single double-ender with no other silver), and never more than 7 silver coins in a box... I've had much better luck with rolls that have been brought in by customers and teller trays. I remember very well my windfall of pre-1960 Nickels in a partial box a couple of years ago... 44 rolls produced 170 pre-60s... As I recall, there were 9 pre-60 enders in that batch... which means that the law of averages would've made it be about 180 coins... - the actual number was 10 short of that. CRH Nickeloholic. 1,600,000 nickels searched in eight years! Have found FOUR complete Jefferson sets!

I got one box of halves today (other bank forgot to order me a box)... I had one roll which weighed 236.38 grams (obviously meant it had an extra coin), and one roll which weighed 223.71 grams (roll had a fake 1984-D half made out of lead  )... So I ended up with 1,000 real coins LOL. Not much of note as very impaired proof 1974-S and 1999-S coins were the best finds... The lone NIFC was a nice shiny 2002-D, ruined because someone decided to stamp the initials "R C" into the ends of the obverse.  On a positive note, the teller who I got the box from had 11 halves... I saw one which looked "whitish" and sure enough it was a 1968-D!   CRH Nickeloholic. 1,600,000 nickels searched in eight years! Have found FOUR complete Jefferson sets!

My last four boxes for this week had only 1 skunk, I pulled 16 pieces of silver, 2-90%ers and 14-40%ers, 2-64s one of each, also 3-65, 2-66, 2-67, 4-68, and 3-69s. Also found 7 Vietnam War and WWII Sticker Halves. Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend. Hope you all find what you are looking for. Keep Stacking!   "LOVE THE HUNT!"
