Had a decent day today. $500 searched, $250 in string & sons, $60 in brinks rolls, $190 in customer rolls. 12 40% found, 1 Bicentennial Proof, 1 72 Proof, and 40 NIFC (2003 - 2006 p&d). Brinks had 6 40% and the Bicentennial proof, Customer rolls had 3 40%, 72 Proof, and 40 NIFC, String rolls had just 3 40%.
What do you folks do with your NIFC's? I know this has been covered before, but as a silver junkie holding clad coin that are not Proofs is kind of tough. But I know that there is only a limited # of them produced.

Welll...gave up on halves for the week, so I hit up the grocery store service center for nearly $50 in nickels...landed 3 War Nickels. I'll take what ever silver I can get! :D |

i am well over it by now. that bank was my dump bank anyway. When I called to report the situation, I never mentioned silver. just stated that I requested some money and it wasnt given to me. anyway, I was happy with the 3 rosies

SDcoinguy - I had a similar situation last week. There was a sub teller at my CU, she was from another branch. I saw 3 dimes in her change tray, one that I thought was silver and 2 that I thought were Canadian. I asked to buy all three. She pulled out the Canadians by looking at the edge, then proceeded to grab a handful of Rosies and throw them on the counter. I didn't realize it at the time, but she was trying to hide the silver. I just looked at the edge and picked it out. She was trying to save it for herself. Oh, well!

i am finding that customer wrapped, in large quantities can yield better than average results. as hybes as seen with halves..lol

SD, that's the spirit. It sounds trite, I know, but the best way to handle unpleasant distractions like that, IMHO, is to just shrug them off and move on. There's too much silver out there, and not enough of us to get it all, so keep your head in the game...we need your help, too!  |

$8 in loose halves from the bank - one 40%. Also a trashed 1978 proof. Already spent it - back to circulation! If you come across a 1978 proof that looks like it went through a meat grinder - thats it!

Picked up a box of Fed halves today....nothing....no NIFC's...no Proofs......no Silver.....no NUTHIN !! .....  |

By the way, today I was "re-"reminded that I have a coin collector working at my bank ! .....I asked them to look out for any foreign coins, silver, etc. etc.......and the manager said that "Gale usually gets all of that stuff"....(Gale is a nice 55-60 year old man, and we've discussed coins before a couple years back)
It's soooo depressing knowing that he'll get his hands on EVERYTHING that comes in there....and that they save it for "him" even when he's not working on a particular day !
Oh well.....

 Good attitude Eddiespin! We need to remember, we are ahead when we do find silver. The only price to be paid is time/gas, even then we have the thrill of the hunt! Hey Harrison Congrats on your silver! May there be more! |

Eaglefoot I have the same issue. There's 60+ year old lady who works at the chase I go to. I was returning some halves and she asked if I search for silver. I've never gotten more than a few loose halves always no silver.
thank god there are lot's of banks in my city
