Chukester,
The original 2 have scratches around that area. The rest I have did not amount to anything. I still plan on hanging on to the partial G's. I did find another "tampered" (my second) one. Interestingly my son could see the "fg". What I notice is that under dim lighting with the coin at angle you can the fg very faintly. I look at the 72 and 74's but nothing yet. But then again I may have tossed some errors. For me those 2 seem very tough. Thanks again.
Peace

Finally hit a Great box.
6 Walking Lib (1945, 1942, 1940, 1941,1944, 1941)

259 Franklin's

160 90% 1964 Kennedys

8 40% silver.

Persistence works. I also picked up a bag and got 2 40%'s both 1967 .
I only wish I had ordered two boxes this last week.

Spjegues,
Congrats may be an understatement here. Any who, If I were you I would place an "emergency order" from where ever you got this box from, FOR BOXES of dimes, quarters and Halves and pay the charge for the "emergency order".

LET IT ROLL

Peace

..... Me too.....and I would just flip my lid to see something like that !.....though I really doubt this will ever happen to me.........it's always someone else....

Is that bag a "Brinks" bag ? ...... If so.....I might have to start tryin' those !

I'm lucky to find just one silver Kennedy on average in my Fed Boxes.....I think I'd have a heart attack to open one and find what you did ! I've N.E.V.E.R. found a Franklin or Walker searching Fed boxes......only one Franklin from some "loose" ones from a bank one time recently.

New to this forum. But, I'm gonna take a break from searching Lincolns for awhile and try some halves. But, I have a couple of questions.

I preliminarily touched base with my bank and they said they don't have any halves and that I have to order them. I placed the order and she told me to give her a couple of days. So, what did I just order?

After reading *most* of this thread, I get the impression that you can ask for specific rolls? Like String & Sons, or Brinks? And what is a fed box?

And dang spjegues! You hit the mother lode! If I opened a box like that I think I would have double died!

Scooby........you don't get to "request" Fed boxes or Brinks.....it's just whatever your bank normaly gets....that's what you'll get.
And a "box of halves" is $500.00

A "Fed Box" is rolled by String & Son....and they are from Federal Reseve Banks......versus "Brinks" rolls/boxes are from Brinks outlets...rolled by them...(usually/often in clear plastic rolls)
You'll get various opinions on which ones produce the most silver.....
