Eddiespin - the bags are through my bank which uses Brinks, but the teller told me the bags come from Wachovia. I have no idea how that works out - but I've never had a total skunk bag of ZERO silver/proofs, but never anything really, really crazy either. I suppose I should look at it as even 1 silver per bag is profit, but dumping is a PAIN for me because my banks charge for coin deposits over $100 - so I have to visit numerous branches or do it separate days. I hate the dumping process.

OK, thanks, buddy. Reason I asked is because awhile back I had arranged to get bank bags with the bank managers, but somehow that brilliant plan had gone south, so to speak, as of late. As a matter of fact, now that I think about it, that was ever since the price of silver had started going back up. Now there's a coincidence!

Hey...anyway...good luck on yours!

Thanks. Yeah, I think tellers are more aware of silver coins these days. Although, some really don't care.

More evidence I need to stick with customer wrapped. After dumping $99.50 in halves, I went to the B of A across the street where I landed $40 in customer wrapped.

16 - 90% including 1959 and 1962 Franklins
23 - 40% all 1968.

All of the rest of them were bicentenials. As if someone may have collected them thinking they'd be rare or valuable.

That's an awesome score! I caught a B of A on a couple of customer-wrapped rolls awhile back and hit a couple of 40%s. They don't have counting machines, there, so they'll likely keep them in those rolls when they come into them like that, until they can send them off. From there, needless to say, it's all about our timing.

That's $160 in melt alone. Sincerely hope you didn't leave any rolls there.

My box last night wasn't very good. Only 1 silver - a 1967 that's not in very good shape. I did have a REALLY nice 1987 that I'd call MS-64. It must have just come out of the mint set. There were also 4 NIFCs but I don't bother keeping those (2002-D, 2005, 2007-D, 2008).

4 boxes today:

2- 90%- 64P JFK'S
1- 40 %

2 more boxes for tomorrow and then back to dimes. I am having alot more luck with dimes than halfs.

Maybe it's time to up the volume on dimes and decrease on the halfs.

It's also alot easier to dump dimes than halfs!

also found this 1984 Dominican Republic Medio Peso

I have no idea what this is worth US Dollar wise, so I don't know if I should keep it or dump it.

I'm going to post these pics on the world currency forum for some add'l info.

Searched my two boxes today; findings create doubt about my "skill" theory vs "luck".

Box 1 finds:
54-D Franklin
2-64 JFKs
2-40%
5-NIFC

Box 2 finds:
1-2001
1- Proof 1976 bicentennial

Also in box 1 I found this ? which I also posted on the ID section of the forum, anybody here have any ideas?

mdh157,

i feel you. my box today had zilch.. only 1-2006-p MS

ive been through 5k in about a month and only hit 12 or so 40/s

one more box tommorrow.

and about skill vs. luck.

it is all LUCK with boxes...

i had a convo with my teller the other week about my concern of getting the same halves in an unopned box. she said that with the ammount of coin that goes through the "hopper" at whatever location does the sorting, I have a minimal chance of getting my coins back..

after I had that convo, and looked through my box today, I had my doubts. almost every roll had at least one coin with a strike-through sharpie on it. so I marked a few edges as I went to test this theory.

i may not have gotten my dumps, but I know I got someone elses.

Picked up 5K in boxes today and let the machine sort away.

Ended up with.....

1 - 1942
1 - 1945
4 - 1964
16 - 40%

Alot of work for a decent amount of silver.
