Hello, everyone!

I've been a long-time lurker on this thread (probably since this thread only had 95 pages), and have finally decided to contribute to the discussion.

As means of an introduction, I've been searching halves consistently since November. Each week I get two of the $1000 coin-lok bags from a local bank. Approximately 50% of the bags are skunks, and the bags that do have silver usually contain only 3-5 keepers, ranging from walkers to 40% JFKs. However, I have been fortunate to find 2 'monster bags', that contained a substantial amount of silver.

Of my two bags last night, one was a skunk, but the other contained:
5 90% JFKs and 174 40% JFKs.

As awesome as that bag was, though, it pales when compared to another bag that I had back in March. In that bag, I found:
10 90% JFKs
5 Franklins
21 Walkers
155 40% JFKs
& 1 1893 Columbian Exposition Commemorative!

Obviously, not every bag is like the two described above. I've also had my share of skunks. You didn't even know it, but you all have been key in keeping me motivated through the skunk streaks that can make halves-hunting seem like a chore. Hopefully I can return the favor.

I've got my share of theories and tips regarding strategy, dumping, marking coins, NIFC, luck, etc, but those can be shared in later posts.

In the near future I hope to share a few pics of some of my better finds, as well as the results that my Dad has had while halves-hunting in another part of the country. In ten months he's gone through nearly 450 Brinks and Fed boxes, and has kept meticulous records of each and every box he's ever opened. He's had some pretty decent luck, too, and has even found a coin that's older than my Columbian Exposition commemorative.

Thanks for reading my ridiculously long first post, and I look forward to joining the discussion. Let me know if you have any questions.

My bank didn't have a box of halves for me this week.

I get the distinct feeling they don't want me ordering from them anymore. They only had 3 N.F. String & sons rolls. I took them anyway expecting nothing but had a nice bright 1968-D. My entire $500 box last week only produced 1 40%. Go figure

I tried to get a box of pennies or dimes but they wouldn't give me anything. Maybe I'll try to order $500 in $2 bills next week just to annoy them.
