i noticed I got a handful of 86 p and 86d whose mintage are only 13.1 and 15.3 mill each
wondering what exactly is a low mintage
should I hold onto these coins in a roll and make rolls of low mintage to set aside?
got a 1999 P today in my 5 rolls mentioned earlier 8.9 million is that low mintage and should it be held onto
Also I know 87's of either mint are low mintage anyone can see that same with the 70 just wondering what else I should really place aside besides the silver
its always more fun when you are searching for something other then the hardest stuff to find cause it keeps you going

so far I have found a 62 and (2) 67's in $750 in halfs. I found all 3 in the first $250 I got a few weeks ago and got skunked on the last $500 yesterday.
I'm not sure if I am going to be able to keep doing this, when I asked for $500 in halfs the teller told me that I can not keep doing this and they would have to start charging me. I asked how much and she went and talked to another teller, when she cam back she asked if I had an account and when I said yes she dropped it and went to the vault for the halfs.
My other problem is dumping my coins. I have an account at another local bank that I have been using to dump coins but they just have a small coin counter that takes a long time and I feel like I'm going to be a pain if I keep taking in 500 coins every few days.
do you guys have any suggestions on how I can turn over a decent amount of halve (or nickles) without multiple bank branches available?

The only way I can think of to dump the coins without banks is to spend them on your weekly/daily purchases. That might be tedious, but money is money. Use them to buy gas, groceries, make credit card payments at other banks, pay tolls. I'm sure you will be able to find a few creative ways.

if you use a coin deposit bag, it will save the time it takes to roll or even really count the coins. as long as you know the total amount you are depositing.

the onlyplace I know of that takes bags, is/was b of a.. which , they now charge $6 a bag... anyone you know for free?>

I always deposit my coins in bags to my wells fargo. They were the ones who told me to use them instead of rolling. Easier for everyone.

After a couple weeks of skunkage, I found 2-40% in a coffee can of about $140 worth of halves. Feels nice to break out of the slump! :-)
This is the same bank that had the $100 of BU clad halves and the halves broken out of silver mint sets. I wonder where their source is?

After taking a break on halves for two weeks I decided to stop at a few banks while I was waiting for my car to finish from the shop. I stopped at a Wachovia in a populated area and when I got to the teller I asked for halves, she said she only had two dollars worth and they were old and worn out, and I probally wouldn't want them... I was intrigued and when she gave them to me.. I had...

I almost had a heart attack right there. I know some will be calling BS on this but i'll try and post pics soon...
I had to ask who brought these in and did they drop anything else off?!?
Turns out a business account brought them in because someone gave them them and they didnt want to give them back as change because everyone thought they were foreign coins!
What a world we live in today... I just hope this will give hope to those hunters who are in a dry spell now... After 8 straight box skunks, I almost gave up hunting all together, I'm glad I didnt!

why can't I find tellers like this? all mine are a little too informed. I even picked up a box of dimes that had been opened. the teller told me she found a roll with a silver dime in it as she was handing it to me! talk about burn...
