Today's 8-coin search turned up no silver, just a couple new dates again... Eventually those are gonna run out, too...

After reading this forum, I made my first request for half dollars from my bank. The teller had 16 in the tray and I bought all of them. 15 were common, but there was one 1969.

i was going to start a new topic for what happened today...

i was making my usual dump of pennies and the teller said, hey I was saving these for you... I thought it was something lame, like 2010 cents or something..

she brought out 2 envelopes...

it was 21x 40%!
3x66
8x67
9x68-d
1x69

quite a few BU.. the 69 and a 66 were close to MS-65..

finally! some easy money!

Took the morning off for the funeral of a dear friend's mother-in-law, and decided to take the whole day. Spent the afternoon hitting about 8-9 small towns. Not near the score as my last day of half hunting, but not terrible. We probably went through $1,500 worth of halves, didn't really keep score, and came up with 17 40% and 1 90% Kennedy and my very first Franklin a 1950 in EF-45ish.

I was pumped. The teller was counting out the stuff out of the counter bag and I saw that big old bell staring at me and fireworks started going off.

Day didn't get started off good, the first bank had $300 and it was all BU 1997-D's. We opened 5 rolls and just cashed the rest in in the roll.

Happy hunting.

Edit - Oh yeah, I also got a 1991 coin that says "Eire Punt" and has a Deer on one side and a harp on the other. A lil googling reveals it's an Irish Pound coin. Interesting find.

Americanamafia:

Regarding the IKE'S- a small local bank that I've had accounts with for years is some how able to get individual $100.00 sealed bags of Ike's.

Not divulging the name of the bank for obvious reasons ( others on this forum in my area of operation etc)

Even when I asked how do they get them and where, I just get a big smile, no response and they take my order.

No major bank like CHASE, TD Bank, PNC etc- their head tellers can't even figure out where I'm getting these from and I'm not about to let them know!
