Wife called the loan due, so I sold 1400 40% for $3.12 a piece. Now I am in the black, and have seed money to keep searching.(and buy the 40" lcd/blu ray combo.)
That is the best price I've found around me. Has anyone else sold and if you have have you found melt value? Of course after I sold silver rose 50 cents that day. That Figures!

Where do you get the bags of halves? I can get boxes but the bags have me interested.

I found some 1982 and 1983 JFKs. Are they all worth keeping? Just regular circulated.

I picked up $18 in loose halves from teller trays today and got 2 1964. One of them looks like a proof! I'm going to try to get pics up to see what you guys think.

Picked up 4 boxes of halves today. So far I've only busted open 2 of em, but both were skunk boxes. Hoping the next 2 have a couple solid rolls of 90%'s...

Got 8 boxes for the weekend. 5 boxes in I was skunked until the last roll of box 5. Found a beautiful 1966. 3 boxes to go. Here's hoping they are better.

Hit some banks up and got about $40 halves. Got 5 40%. I love it when a teller holds up a half dozen and you see that nice white one in the middle.

I've stopped bank searching all together as NO banks ever have any loose halves. ALL the banks in my area are required to run "large" amounts of coinage through their machines, so they go straight into bags. Very rarely do people give them loose halves under $10(or whatever), so they rarely have any in their trays.

OK. I will keep the 82s. You are right it is only a few. It was weird to get so many at one time it made me think that they are more available than thought, but no more since. I got alot of 2002-2009 in 1 box but have not had any since. I will keep on truckin. Thanks.

picked up a box yesterday...it was unopened and looked like someone had ordered it years ago and never picked it up. in any case, I only got 4 silvers, but it wasn't a bad find, all in all.
2 1968 1 1964 1 Benjamin...my first. it was very exciting. to quote the immensely talented and prolific puff daddy, 'it's all about the benjamin's, baby'.
