JFK Half Dollar Roll Hunters: Silver, Proofs And Other Finds

Picked up $91 got 2 40%, 1 90% (51D Franklin, first one of the year, YEAH!), a gorgeous 68S Proof deep cameo, and 2 NIFC (both 03P, one with awesome rainbow toning).

i went through a box earlier and found 2 40% and a 90% all kennedys

I still dont know how you guys find boxes...Im lucky if I get one half dollar per month!!

Some areas of the country it is harder to get boxes. Some banks have a flat policy..."we do not order halves", mainly from collectors abusing the order coin privilage..

Ok, I am sitting on 3 boxes of halves and a box of nickels. Going to take me some time to get through them!

got 3 boxes last week, from a bank who when they said they could order me all I wanted... I asked for 6 boxes, they got me 3 one week and 3 the next. These boxes were all taped shut, but looked sealed otherwise, I'm just wondering if they were taped in a stack or something.

Yield was no silver.

But someone dumped a lot of 2002 and 2003 in UNC (or AU) condition - pulled about 120 or so from it, haven't gone through them yet.

was in the bank picking up coin and asked if the teller next to me had halves, said he had 3, one of them was a 40% - second time that's happened from the same teller.

Well, just finished going through 12 of 16 boxes and I am too pooped to continue. The results are as follows:

Box 2 - nothing
Box 3 - 1 NIFC
Box 4 - 16 40%, 2 NIFC
Box 5 - 9 40 %
Box 6 - 1 40 %
Box 7 - 2 NIFC
Box 8 - Ding, Ding, Ding, we have a winner! - 98 40%, 4 90%, 2 NIFC (only 7 rolls DIDN"T have silver & many had quite a few)
Box 9 - 1 40%, 1 NIFC
Box 10 - 1 proof, 1 40%, 1 NIFC
Box 11 - 1 40%
Box 12 - 2 NIFC

So far the totals are 133 40%, 4 90%, 14 NIFC, 1 proof and a couple offset cut coins. that is about $604 at todays closing on silver.

The #8 box was simply slathered in silver. Nearly half had silver coins on the top and some on the top and bottom. I was pretty stoked when I opened that box, lemme tell you. None of the boxes were open. 2 boxes were short 1 coin and 1 box had an extra...

I have 16 more ordered for next Monday. Hope the luck holds.
