well, soon enough the price of silver should drop to where they are almost worth .50 again!

I hope the price of silver drops so I can buy some. But what makes you think it will?

Checked 8 more boxes only found a 1971 & 1973 proof
in excellent condition for being in circulation.
Worst batch I ever had.
Getting more boxes tomorrow.

Happy Holidays to all

AHA!

I finally get to post something here!

Short version: I got a 1968 D Kennedy half today!

Long version: I went to the bank who told me awhile ago that they would have to charge me 20.00 S&H (both ways) to order boxes of halves. At the time, they took my name and told me they would call me if they got any number of halves in.

I went in to cash a check - I asked for halves, They said they got 400.00 of them in the other day.

I did not ask why they had not called me.

However, I did get 200.00 of them (all I had at the time). I only got one 40% out of the group - but it was fun!

Now I hope to go get the rest of them tomorrow.

BTW - no pics just b/c there is nothing spectacular about its looks - dirty and circulated.

They didn't call because you don't fit into a neat little cubbyhole.

I stopped at some banks today. The only one that really had any half dollars was a Capital One, which had $160 worth in rolled. I ended up with 4 40% halves!

Opened a box over the weekend. Ended up getting shorted $1.75 (three rolls were one coin short and one roll had a quarter instead of a halve) but I did get a 1982 S.

4 boxes gave up a 68, a 69, and half of a Magician's coin. Anyone have just the part which includes the reverse? That would have a Kennedy reverse on one side and something else on the other.

The bank I deal with mostly, does not have a coin machine.
Some branches want them re-rolled and put them back into the box, other branches wants them loose in a plastic
bank bag and they credit my account. Then the bags are sent out to be counted if I'm short they debit my account if I put in to much they credit my account.
I have account at another bank with a coin machine but they have a daily limit of $150 over that they charge 3%
I use it to dump pennies and nickles.
Re-rolling is not to bad for me because my wife helps
but I help her with her horses feeding and cleaning.

Happy holidays

Got my local credit union and a couple bank tellers looking out for halves and silver colored dollar coins for me. The credit union called today and said a customer turned in some halves and dollars, got 30 Ikes and 24 clad Kennedy's. I took them all off their hands since they just clutter up their operations, no real value but it does them a favor and gives me something to fiddle with...
